Arctic Wolf by Schleich
Arctic wolf by Schleich. Hand painted animal figurine by Scheich.
Model 14742.
9.2" x 2.5" x 6.1".
This Arctic wolf has long, dense guard hairs and a thick, warming undercoat to protect it from the icy cold.
The Arctic wolf lives in the Canadian Arctic islands and northern Greenland. It is so cold there that the soil does not thaw, even in "summer". But not only the temperatures are a challenge for the wolf. In search of prey, it has to travel up to 30 km per day. Sometimes it goes for weeks without food, especially during the winter, when it is pitch dark for 4-5 months. But the habitat also provides an advantage: This far north, humans can hardly prey on it.
Fun fact: The Arctic wolf lives in regions where the temperature rarely rises above –22 degrees.
Schleich products are made of various plastics and dyes, which are carefully selected to meet the respective requirements. Most typically plastics used are polyvinyl chloride (PVC), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), in addition to other plastics typical for toys. Even the material suppliers are subject to strict controls by our quality officers. The dyes used are optimally adapted to the different types of plastic and demonstrate top-rate mechanical and chemical resistance. They ensure the high durability of Schleich products and make all Schleich pieces saliva and sweat proof as well as abrasion-resistant, and thus ensure that they are completely safe for playing with. Only once a product meets fully all international laws, standards and guidelines for toys is it released for production. All Schleich articles and materials comply with the national and international toy requirements applicable worldwide, as well as the new European Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC and DIN EN 71.
Recommended for 3+.
We love Schleich's realistic animal figures, a quality toy that stimulates the child's imagination as well as teaching them about animals and wildlife.
