The Fueki-nori company was founded in Osaka in 1886. In 1895, they invented an original starch glue, from which the name "Fueki" was taken to signify its long-lasting quality.
The iconic yellow glue pot featuring the mascot, Fueki-kun, was launched in 1975 and quickly became a household name in Japan. It is a 100% starch glue, made from cornstarch, and is known for being safe for children. The company continued to innovate, launching a variety of liquid glues in different containers and designs between 1979 and 1989, such as the "O'Glue" liquid glue pen.
