The Volume 292 pencil is a creative homage to Keith Haring, the groundbreaking artist whose bold, joyful imagery became an enduring symbol of the 1980s art scene. Influenced by New York City’s graffiti culture, Haring used his distinctive visual language to engage audiences both in galleries and on the streets, often channelling his art into projects that supported hospitals, underprivileged children and community health causes. This pencil is named after the location of Keith Haring's iconic Pop Shop at 292 Lafayette Street, this special edition pencil celebrates Haring’s vision of making art accessible to everyone. Each pencil is decorated with his energetic dancing figures – a motif synonymous with movement, connection and creativity.

Blackwing pencils are high-quality graphite pencils known for their smooth writing, premium materials, and unique rectangular eraser. The brand was established in the 1930s by Eberhard Faber and was a favourite of many legendary creatives, most famously by writer John Steinbeck and animator Chuck Jones. Production ended in 1998 when the machine used to make the clips for the erasers broke down, and the remaining Blackwing pencils became highly sought after. The pencils were revived in 2010 by California Cedar Products. Claimed by many to be the best writing utensil in the world, Blackwing pencils are famous for the quality of graphite, iconic shape, replaceable eraser, and the men and women whose works they’ve inspired throughout the years.
