Whimsical Tales Retro Matches by Match Design Factory. Whimsical Tales is a charming collection that revives the forgotten beauty of vintage Japanese matchbox design with a storybook twist. Featuring 12 unique retro-style illustrations, this set celebrates the whimsical and imaginative—from curious creatures and folklore motifs to playful, dreamlike scenes. Each matchbox contains 40 fully functional matchsticks, all housed in a bespoke MDF presentation box. Originally created through a collaboration between Kobe Match Co., Ltd. and Trunk Design Studio, this enchanting edition continues the legacy that helped inspire the popular hibi incense matches.
