Kaeru no Mori Kobo is a frog model studio located in Fukushima, Japan. After leaving their previous model company in 2001, the founder began creating and selling frog-themed illustrations and sculptures. In 2013, the studio relocated to Fukushima. Currently, they primarily conduct online sales and wholesale, occasionally participating in exhibitions. The artist conducts field research in mountains and forests every year to create more elaborate frog-themed models.

In Japanese, "kaeru" (カエル), meaning frog, is a homophone for "kaeru" (帰る), meaning to return. Therefore, this "Buji Kaeru" (無事カエル) also carries the meaning of "safe return." The "Kaeru no Mori Kobo Safe Return Frog Strap" measures approximately 4.9 cm tall, excluding the strap. Combining the artist's usual hobby of mountain climbing with frogs, the adorable frog wears hiking boots and carries a huge hiking backpack, with its cute hands-on-hips pose, making it irresistibly charming! The product is available in four backpack color variations: red, blue, black, and white. The climbing rope is cleverly threaded through the gap between the frog and its backpack, avoiding any metal clasp components that might disrupt the overall aesthetic. The use of a climbing rope also perfectly matches the mountain-climbing frog theme!

Gachapon (ガチャポン), or Gashapon (ガシャポン), are highly collectible items sold randomly in capsules from Japanese vending machine. The name gachapon comes from the sound the capsule makes sounds, gacha from the sound of turning the hand-cranking action of a toy-vending machine, and pon from the sound the toy capsule makes when it lands in the collection tray. Each month a new series of Gachapon designs are released from Japanese manufacturers such as Bandai, Tomy and Koro Koro, including licensed popular characters, artist collaborations, Japanese foodstuffs, cats, and other kawaii designs. These often sell-out quickly to collectors and Gachapon enthusiasts. All our Gachapon capsules are directly imported from Japan and sold as collectible / art figurines.

There are four different Safe Frog Return characters in this Gachapon series: Red, Blue, Black or White. (chosen at random just like a real Gachapon!) or as a full set of four. Original capsules included with all purchases.
