Emile et Ida: AW20 - Au Clair De La Lune
Emile et Ida, hailing from France, is the brainchild of brand creators Delphine and Céline whose family history is steeped in fashion. The grandchildren of tailors, Emile et Ida was established in 2010 as a tribute to their parents and is a brand renowned for its soft and natural fabrics, retro vibe and subtle colour palette.
Their AW20 collection is nothing short of sensational and EEEEEP in comes in grown-up sizes too!!
Truth be known I am a bit of a sucker for faux fur so Emile et Ida's twist on what is a wardrobe staple (for me at least) has to be their glorious version in an all over deer print. Teamed here with the gorgeous velvet cord ruffle trouser in ambre, this is something of a dream outfit in my books - available in 3 to 8 years and beyond beautiful!
As soon as the colder weather hits, which I think it kind of has now, I am all about the knitwear (well that, log fires and full bodied red wine), Emile et Ida has some beautiful pieces this season and I adore the jumpers with intarsia moon pattern. Beautifully soft wool knitted pullover with full moons and the ecru crescent moon-shape, available in gris and beige for kids age 3-8 years with a grown-up version in gris (on my wish-list) in extra small to large. The beige version teamed with the cord trousers in dune is DIVINE!
Lots of really lovely vintage influences this season, gorgeous pinafores, pretty dresses (you must take a look at the Emma Louise Liberty print version) and the most gorgeous blouses. The daisy blouse in ecru is long-sleeved, made from cotton voile and printed with block print. I love the detailing on this one - the pleated ruffle, the buttons in natural mother-of-pearl and the gathered cuffs, it looks truly stunning on.
Emile et Ida always produce cute bags, we have a Fox one here from at least two seasons ago still going strong after a fairly rough ride at school! This season's school bags don't fail to delight - a series of sweet characters made in a durable cotton with embroidered animal features, its hard not to fall in love with them!
Emile et Ida is a refreshing, refined collection, with deliciously retro roots and the ability to have fun with their designs. AW20 is online now and well worth a look as so many more beautiful pieces make up this collection.
