Sunset is Studio MUTI's love letter to the vast open spaces, dramatic landscapes, and stunning colours of the West. With this piece, MUTI explained that they "Imagined ourselves in the place of the rider and the feeling of existing in a vast and beautiful space, in sharp contrast to the busy city life that typically surrounds us." It is a testament to the global reach of the western allure that the idea of it is as clear in Cape Town as it is in California.

Drawing on influences like "All The Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy, the paintings of Brett Allen Johnson, and the classic John Wayne film "True Grit". The team at MUTI has long been enamored with the mythology of the American West and it's place not only in US History, but in global culture. With Sunset they have channeled this adoration into a beautifully detailed, exquisitely patterned scene that instantly transports us to an iconic Western vista, on horseback, with endless sky above.
