New to Junior Edition for the forthcoming Autumn/Winter season is London based brand L.F Markey. We have long admired, loved (and worn) pieces from their collection of minimalist but elegant women's workwear staples and adding them to our growing portfolio of ethically produced, sustainable fashion is something of a dream come true. No prizes for guessing what I'll be top to toe in this season!

And, as if that wasn't exciting enough, we are THRILLED to be partnering with the brand to exclusively bring you their eagerly anticipated, debut children's collection.

Louise Markey is the namesake and creative force behind the brand. Sydney born but now based in East London, she cut her teeth designing for brands such as Burberry before returning to study a Masters in Fashion Design at Central St Martins and fulfilling her dreams of creating her own brand of feminine basics and luxury utility wear which first launched back in 2013.

The brand is probably best known their contemporary take on workwear staple pieces such as boilersuits, jeans and chore jackets, all of which we are stocking this season. In amongst their core selection of denim pieces you will also find beautifully bold and bright fabrics and dresses in boxy and oversized shapes.

Their best selling Sammy Dress for example, comes in a gorgeous, limited edition brush strokes print this season, every piece uniquely different in terms of print placement and made from 100% organic cotton (GOTS certified).

Simple, colourful and easy to wear designs in the most gorgeous fabrics have, as you would imagine, translated so perfectly into a collection for younger children which, together with L.F Markey, we are stocking exclusively from 3 months to 4 years. The debut collection consists of pieces spanning tops, shorts, trousers and jumpsuits in soft cottons and a terrific terry towelling.

Crucially for us, L.F. Markey is committed to making clothes in a safe environment where working conditions are fair for all and they quite rightly pride themselves on sustainable practices and ethical manufacturing. The brand embodies innovative cuts and bold colours using fine fabrics which are produced ethically and encourage slow, sustainable fashion. The collections simply don't date, wardrobe staples with a lifespan as long as your own!

Their collections are manufactured in boutique-sized factories in China which are meticulously and consistently monitored and every factory has signed on to internal ethical and safety compliance documents which L.F Markey manage, inspect and enforce internally. They also conduct frequent audits that cover areas such as worker safety, gender equality and payment of a living wage.

L.F. Markey source sustainable fabrics and use industry standard textiles dyes which undergo rigorous testing before being used in the market and are currently in the process of exploring plant dyes for future collections. They are also in the process of moving all of their products into Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic textiles and hope to have achieved this by 2022.

To date, 65% of their cotton is organic and all of their wool yarn for knitted products, including the gorgeous pocketed Kael wool knit sweater from this season's collection, are now sourced exclusively from suppliers who adhere to the Responsible Wool Standard.

Twenty three pieces make up our selection from their AW21 collection, 12 for women and 11 for children, all incredible and all online now.
