Nineteen Seventy Three was founded in Brighton in 2003 by Emma and James Emmerson, and named after the year they were both born. Inspired by a shared love of cool design and typography, Emma and James collaborate with talented illustrators and designers to create contemporary designs that incorporate both cutting-edge and traditional printing techniques, such as letterpress printing on vintage Heidelberg’s and hand-stitched book bindings. Alongside their own brand, they also print, manufacture and distribute designs from wonderfully talented brands from across the globe such as Egg Press, Rifle Paper Co, Carolyn Suzuki, Sukie, Cut & Make, Flip & Lu and more.
