Panda! Go, Panda! Plush by Sun Arrow. Panda! Go, Panda! is an animated film relased in 1972. It was written and created by Hayao Miyazaki and directed by Isao Takahata for TMS Entertainment (formerly Tokyo Movie), many years before the creation of Studio Ghibli. Panda! Go, Panda! was released at the height of the Panda craze in Japan, brought on when the government announced the loan of a pair of giant pandas from China to the Ueno Zoo as part of Panda diplomacy. Following on from the success of the movie, Takahata and Miyazaki released Panda Kopanda and the Rainy-Day Circus in 1973. In 1985, they would form Studio Ghibli.
