Genmaicha matcha has a unique flavour profile thanks to the traditional blend of sencha green tea, matcha and roasted brown rice. It gives a hint of comforting, popcorn-like flavor from roasted brown rice, followed by a mellow, smooth aftertaste of sencha and matcha. This organic genmaicha matcha powder is imported directly from Shizuoka, Japan, known for its picturesque views on the foothills of Mt. Fuji and renowned as the green tea capital of Japan, producing approximately 40% of the country's total green tea. Shizuoka is known for its high quality sencha and its diverse flavors, due to the regions mineral-rich soil and clear water from Mt. Fuji.

Sencha is a particularly good source of Vitamin C and E, and has a lighter and mellower flavour compared to matcha. Genmaicha, due to the combination of green tea and rice, is known to be gentle on the stomach and lower in caffeine content compared to other green teas. Mellow, light, sweet and savory with a popcorn-like aroma; suitable for koicha, usucha, and matcha latte.

Genmaicha Shot: Sift 1 tsp (2-2.5g) of genmaicha matcha powder into a bowl. Pour 30-40 ml of warm water at 70ºC (158°F). Whisk in fast zip-zag motion for around 30 seconds until frothy and clump-free.

Straight: To drink it pure as straight tea, add more water to the genmaicha shot. Enjoy hot or over ice.

Genmaicha Latte: Add 200-300ml of your favourite milk to the genmaicha matcha shot. Enjoy hot or over ice. Add sweetener like agave syrup if desired.
