My Melody (マイメロディ, Mai Merodi), frequently shortened as My Melo (マイメロ Mai Mero), is character from the Japanese characterization company Sanrio, designed by Yasuko Matsumoto, and is the main protagonist of the My Melody universe. She is a white bunny who wears a red (or pink) hood that covers her head and usually has a bow or flower on her right ear. The ears themselves are often curved down forwards. Her favorite food is almond pound cake. She was born on January 18th in the magical forest of Mariland, the home to many of her friends.
Kuromi (クロミ, Kuromi) is a character from Sanrio and part of the My Melody universe. She is the self-proclaimed doppelgänger rival of My Melody. Kuromi is a white rabbit with a black devil-like tail and wears a black jester's hat with a pink skull that changes its expression to match her mood. Fittingly, her birthday is on Halloween (October 31st)
