Toquilla Frilly Hand Fan by Coro Cora. These beautiful hand fans are made of Toquilla palm by women artisans from Sandoná, a small town tucked in the mountains of Southern Colombia. Using a traditional technique, the process begins by obtaining the threads from the leaves of the Toquilla, which are then dyed and interwoven to create beautiful and intricate pieces that are the ultimate expression of the region’s culture and identity. For decades, artisan communities in the region have preserved this art of weaving Toquilla palm, and it currently constitutes their main source of income.

All Coro Cora fans are 100% handmade from natural fibers. Please allow for any colour and sizing variations, or natural imperfections created during the hand-making process.

They work directly with artisan communities across Colombia to design and create fun, unique tabletop, accessories and home decor, that celebrate the vibrancy of our country.

​They strongly believe in sustainable and slow consumption and aim to create a lasting social change in the communities they collaborate with. Working mainly with women artisans, their goal is to empower them and ensure they receive a sustainable income for them and their families. All of their products are 100% handmade, using mostly natural fibers with a minimal ecological footprint.
