The dial on the crank allows you to adjust the point from long and curved to short and blunt. A point adjustment dial on the hand crank give you 5 different settings so you can adjust your point for all of your creative needs. Its unique sharpening system retracts the pencil automatically without scuffing the finish, and it includes an automatic brake to prevent over-sharpening. The sharpener is cased in a durable matte black metal and polymer shell that looks sleek and feels substantial. It also features a drawer to empty the shavings that locks into place with a satisfying *click*.

The pencils were revived in 2010 by California Cedar Products.
