Kate Pugsley is an illustrator, painter and surface designer living in Chicago. She grew up in Ohio as a constant drawer, daydreamer, and animal enthusiast before going to college at the Rhode Island School of Design to study illustration. She spends most of her time in her studio painting with gouache and watercolour to create images for books, galleries, magazines, textiles and stationery.

Red Cap Cards is a celebration of art and correspondence from Los Angeles based husband-and-wife team Hal Mertz and Carrie Gifford. They collaborate with some of the world’s greatest artists and illustrators to create one of today’s most well-respected, carefully curated art and design stationery brands. Each illustrator is hand-selected for their stunning work, individual point of view and notable achievements in children’s book illustration, animation, design, and modern art.
