News Edition
A Warm Welcome to L.F Markey
New to Junior Edition for the forthcoming Autumn/Winter season is London based brand L.F Markey. We have long admired, loved (and worn) pieces from their collection of minimalist but elegant women's workwear staples and adding them to our growing portfolio of ethically produced, sustainable fashion is something of a dream come true. No prizes for guessing what I'll be top to toe in this season!
And, as if that wasn't exciting enough, we are THRILLED to be partnering with Louise to exclusively bring you her long-awaited, debut children's collection.
Tin Robots: Reborn and Redefined
As huge fans of traditional toys, we have been on the look-out for classically designed, wind-up tin toys for some years now but until this year everything we have loved has unfortunately been made with the adult collector and not children in mind. Aesthetically still enormously appealing to all ages but not something we could realistically stock and safely sell to our young folk.
Then along came the MARVELLOUS Mr & Mrs Tin.
In-Store Preview Shopping Event - Talking Bobo
We are extra excited to throw open the doors to our beautiful Brighton shop this week as we are hosting an exclusive in-store preview shopping event for the very latest collection from the brilliant Bobo Choses.
Talking Bobo is the very first collection to launch for the forthcoming Autumn/Winter season and we are are thrilled to be able to invite you for an exclusive first look from the 11th to the 14th July, ahead of the online launch this Thursday 15th July.
Atelier Stella - Handmade in Brighton
One of very first things that drew me to Brighton (the sea aside) was how full of colour and creativity it is. It is such a vibrant city that has long attracted people working in the creative industries and we are lucky to be surrounded by some hugely talented people making the most beautiful things.
We have been fans of Stella Baggott, a Brighton based contemporary Ceramacist, for quite some time now. Her playful, handcrafted homewares are both beautifully quirky and completely irresistible and it is with great delight that we welcome Atelier Stella to Junior Edition, both in-store and online.
Dook - Small Batch Salt Soap
We have recently welcomed Dook Soaps to the Junior Edition family and, if you're a Brighton local, you might have already noticed them in-store.
Dook, which quite literally means 'to dip, plunge or bathe', are a small but perfectly formed company hailing from Edinburgh. They make the most extraordinary salt soap, in small batches, using only the finest organic ingredients and essential oils. Once you've used one believe me, there is no turning back!
Bebe Organic : Beautiful and Unique
We were thrilled to welcome Bebe Organic to Junior Edition this year, such a beautiful brand that fits so perfectly with our ethos.
Bebe Organic was founded back in 2014 by mother of two and MA graduate of London College of Fashion, Birgit Kadak whose desire to create a range of original, organic childrenwear was driven by the struggle to find suitable clothing for her first-born child who had been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, an extremely sensitive skin condition.
Emile et Ida
Emile et Ida's collections are always brimming with cheerful designs that are easy to wear. Fabrics are soft and natural and folk, rock, romantic and retro influences can be often be felt. Their clothing is simple and comfortable, never boring and most importantly of all, perfectly suited to the busy and active life of a child.
The brand's creators, Delpine and Céline, are themselves the grandchildren of tailors and Emile et Ida started life in the family home, supported and encouraged by those closest to them and grown through hard work, perseverance and the desire to create something special.
Nellie Quats: Liberty and Linen
Nellie Quats is the most beautiful childrenswear brand for girls, from baby up to 10 years. Designed in London and made in Portugal the collection is made up of pieces that are both comfortable and stylish with a splash of nostalgia. This is clothing that is more than just pretty; oversized or adjustable in design, it is made for active and growing children, bridging that gap between comfort and style.
Made predominantly from Liberty print and linen the clothing is durable, easy to wear and easy to care for, created in the highest quality natural fabric. This is slow fashion; styles with enduring appeal, designed to be consumed more thoughtfully and worn by more than just the one child.
Marsou - Parisian Upcycled and Recycled Fashion
New for this Spring/Summer season is Paris based French brand Marsou. Founded back in 2016 by Laetitia Flandre after 5 years of working for luxury fashion house Chanel, Laetitia combines the beauty of high end fashion with sound environmental credentials. Marsou is clothing that cares for the planet and we are thrilled to add them to our growing portfolio of beautiful, sustainable brands.
Marsou creations are designed, hand-dyed and handmade in Paris using a combination of up-cycled fabric leftovers that are sourced from luxury French fashion houses together with organic certified and eco friendly fabrics free from chemicals that might harm both the body and the Earth.
Liilu: Bloom
Liilu creates timeless, sustainable clothing that is both minimalistic in design and classic in style. Sibylle Pal is the German designer and mother of two at the heart of this brand and her collections are very much rooted in memories from her own childhood and influenced by years of travel.
The collection itself is manufactured in Portugal, made entirely from 100% organic cotton making it wonderfully kind to the most sensitive of skins. Every Liilu piece has gone through a special washing technique that gives the garment a unique softness and signature scent.
Young Soles
We are delighted to welcome luxury footwear brand Young Soles to Junior Edition for the first time this season. Having owned their designs and admired their workmanship for a number of years, it has been a real thrill to finally be able to add them to our growing footwear collection.
Owner, Founder and Creative Director, Louise Shill has, as you would expect, a wealth of experience in the footwear sector with a long history of developing styles around the world for other brands. Having spotted a gap in the market for classic yet cool children's shoes following the birth of her own daughter, she set about creating a line of her very own!
Beautiful Bachaā
We are delighted to welcome beautiful French brand Bachaā to Junior Edition for the first time this season. Created in Paris in 2019 as an expression of a love for and connection to India, the name Bachaā is the phonetic transcription of the name that parents affectionately give to their children in Hindi (pronounced BaTchaA).
Bachaā create the prettiest clothing using artisanal processes such as block printing and hand embroidered detailing, for this reason no two garments are quite the same, every piece has its own slice of unique!
