One Wide River To Cross, originally published in 1966, is a beloved Ed Emberley classic, which received a Caldecott Honor in 1967. Illustrated in gorgeous woodcut simplicity, One Wide River To Cross tells a counting story about Noah's Ark, which was taken from an old American folk song and adapted by Barbara Emberley. Vibrant colors complement the black silhouettes of the woodcut artwork. This vintage re-issue is an Emberley treasure that is a must for any great children's book collection.
Ed Emberley is an award-winning American artist and illustrator, best known for children's picture books. He studied art at the Massachusetts School Of Art in Boston, from which he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and illustration. He also studied at the Rhode Island School Of Design.
