Bermbach Handcrafted

Bermbach Handcrafted is a young German manufacturer that creates individual and sustainable handmade rattan beds for children, which can be enjoyed for a very long time.  Each crib or bed is expertly handmade by a rattan craftsman and requires several days to be completed.  The result is a special, individual piece of furniture that combines arts and crafts with a contemporary feel that goes with many different styles of interior and can be enjoyed for a very long time. 

Bermbach Handcrafted focus on the greatest possible use of natural materials in all the bed components to enable the little one to sleep peacefully in an environment free of harmful materials.  They attach great importance to high-quality workmanship and a careful selection of materials, working with an experienced Japanese-Indonesian producer, who has revived and perfected traditional rattan weaving in modern factories in Indonesia, where the rattan is also sourced.  This tried and trusted material is obtained by collecting the dried tendrils of the fast-growing rattan-climbing palm, which can reach a length of many meters in a very short time.  Their use is a sustainable alternative to cutting down valuable trees, thereby helping to protect the Indonesian rainforest.  Leather windings are tanned with oak extract, which is a natural process, and custom made mattresses are made with coconut core and sheep wool.  This is ensured by a KBA certification.
