Liilu: Bloom
Liilu creates timeless, sustainable clothing that is both minimalistic in design and classic in style. Sibylle Pal is the German designer and mother of two at the heart of this brand and her collections are very much rooted in memories from her own childhood and influenced by years of travel.
The collection itself is manufactured in Portugal, made entirely from 100% organic cotton making it wonderfully kind to the most sensitive of skins. Every Liilu piece has gone through a special washing technique that gives the garment a unique softness and signature scent.
Poudre Organic: Para Sempre
Poudre Organic is the brainchild of Manon and Quentin who, having struggled to find affordable ecological and natural clothing for their third child, started to make a range of simple, practical and beautiful clothing for their daughters. Inspired by fabrics such as organic cotton muslin gauze and traditional, vintage styling this evolved into a much admired collection of clothing that other people both loved and wanted too and so in 2014, Poudre Organic was born.
As the name itself suggests, everything in the collection is organic and the clothing itself is ethically made in Portugal using only the softest organic cottons that are GOTS and OEKO-TEX certified as well as other low energy materials such as linen. Their designs are lovingly put together in small scale surroundings where the name of every seamstress is known to Manon and Quentin.
Emile et Ida: AW20 - Au Clair De La Lune
Emile et Ida, hailing from France, is the brainchild of brand creators Delphine and Céline whose family history is steeped in fashion. The grandchildren of tailors, Emile et Ida was established in 2010 as a tribute to their parents and is a brand renowned for its soft and natural fabrics, retro vibe and subtle colour palette.
Their AW20 collection is nothing short of sensational and EEEEEP in comes in grown-up sizes too!!
Rylee + Cru AW20: Enchanted Forest
Rylee + Cru is a gorgeous childrenswear collection founded by Californian illustrator Kelli Murray and designed in the United States, drawing inspiration from her own young family. There is an inherently vintage feel to her collections; each garment is hand-dyed and super soft making the clothes as comfortable as they are beautiful to wear.
Their latest collection, entitled 'Enchanted Forest' draws inspiration from enchantment and the extraordinary imagination of children, a magical place that reveals a world of mystery. Cast your mind back to being a child, running through the forest, building forts and becoming fairies in a kingdom surrounded by wild life where mushrooms and wild flowers form a pretty blanket on the forest floor. This collection is just SO PERFECT for Autumn!
New Collection: Bobo Choses Growing Young - The Catalogue of Marvellous Trades
There has been SO MUCH buzz around the new Bobo Choses AW20 collection and there's absolutely no denying that when I first laid eyes on this season I let out an audible gasp, this is Bobo at their absolute finest!
The adult collection is first out of the traps this season so you can spoil yourself before indulging the kids.....The Catalogue of Marvellous Trades is a celebration of creativity, possibility and freedom and it's a little bit amazing!
Mama Still Got It!
I think for so many of us, dressing our kids in gorgeous clothes give us great pleasure. Equally, I think that for some (certainly me) the investment both emotionally and financially in our own wardrobes has waned slightly, now that there are small people to dress. And certainly (for many mamas) things aren't in the same place or the same shape as they used to be, having undertaken the immense task of carrying/birthing children and breast-feeding.
I am a default jeans and trainers kind of girl, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a practical, comfortable and safe look that works well. There's occasions though where I do find myself feeling a bit meh as my staying in and going out clothes are one and the same! And so we've decided to broaden our horizons a bit and branch out a little further than we have historically into womenswear, with so many of our favourite baby and kid brands having adult offshoots with some really lovely pieces.
Emile et Ida is one of the womenswear brands we have decided to focus on this spring/summer - they design and produce deliciously retro basics with folky roots. Its a really wearable collection and one that can be as easily dressed up as down plus (bonus!) lots of tees and tops that look great with jeans. With a colour palette of caramel and ecru together with dusty pinks and blues we are stocking skirts and dresses too from extra small to large.
We are also carrying Liilu in mama sizes this season for the first time. A really beautiful collection with a timeless feel. Every piece is made from 100% organic cotton muslin and we have a small but perfectly formed collection of dresses, skirts, shirts and blouses available but be quick, we are already down to the last item in several designs!
We are also delighted to be stocking Bobo Choses Growing Young again this Spring/Summer. A Dance Romance is an immensely fun collection that features prints and shapes from the kids collection. They have taken some of the very best pieces and given them just a little bit of a twist - we have some stand-out t shirts and sweatshirts (I may have brought them all!) but also some gorgeous knits and some beautifully printed shirts and midi skirts and so much more besides!
With additional pieces from Rylee and Cru, Mingo, My Moumout, Poudre Organic, Monkind, The Animals Observatory and Le Petit Germain plus adult sunglasses from Izipizi, its well worth a browse! We are currently in the throes of making our website a bit more user friendly, its still a work in progress but we have created a Womenswear section and you are now able to search by price, size and brand, it makes such a difference!
Womenswear is an area we hope to continue to grow.....we may well top up our existing collections this season and have already placed orders for Autumn/Winter 2020. Shop what we have so far online here, and watch this space for further news!
New Collection: Bobo Choses Growing Young - A Dance Romance
Hands up who has impeccably dressed kids but often neglects to buy anything new for themselves? I know I'm not alone! With the latest Bobo Choses Growing Young collection we are all out of excuses. Featuring prints and shapes from the kids collection, Bobo have given some very best pieces a little twist and come up with the most amazing capsule collection for growing-young adults who appreciate creativity and love to have fun!
For those not already familiar with their SS20 collection, A Dance Romance, it is (as the name suggests!) inspired by the joyful world of dance. With this collection, young-at-heart dancers are encouraged to let themselves go, feel the rhythm, dance and feel happy and if you've seen any of their brilliantly bonkers promo videos you'll have seen what they mean!
There are too many womenswear pieces on our must-have list to feature here. There are some stand-out t-shirts and sweatshirts, some lovely knits (we adore the oranges knitted short sleeve jumper) but also some beautiful printed shirts and midi skirts.
This is our second season carrying Growing Young and our first to feature menswear, we have chosen a few keys pieces that we think will appeal, taking twinning possibilities to tripletting possibilities if you are that way inclined!
Accessories include beautiful silky scarfs in either a leopard, chachacha kiss and all over pineapple print and some very cute short socks available in lips and leopard!
For the home we love these bamboo plates and cups - available separately as sets of four with the plates priced at just £26 and cups at £17.
"When dancing, there isn’t a right way and a wrong way, there’s just your own way. Dancing gives us a feeling of happiness; makes ourselves feel confident and becomes a way to express what we cannot put into words."
Available online now in women's sizes XS-L and Mens S-L.
The Animals Observatory X Reebok
If you were to look up the phrase 'Match made in Heaven' online we're pretty sure that The Animals Observatory's collaboration with global sportswear brand Reebok would be way up there, it's THE most fantastic thing.
Taking both a unique and fashionable approach to children’s trainers and pulling inspiration from the colours and textures of the season, these iconic Reebok styles pay homage to the vintage look and bold designs that both brands are renowned for.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the official launch party in London last week where we literally drooled all over the 4 designs that we have been lusting after behind the scenes for so long. We were really excited to have a good chat with TAO's Creative Director Laia Aguilar and may or may not have spent quite some time at the kids craft table making sock puppets from TAO socks ; )
Available at a just few select global stockists, Junior Edition are hugely excited to be representing this collection in the UK.
Arriving in store in this week and launching online on Monday 10th December we will be stocking all 4 designs across both baby and children's sizes. Starting at EUR 20 right through to EUR 34 we are absolutely thrilled to reveal that we will also be carrying EUR 38 and 39 for the smaller footed mamas out there!
The launch of this collection marks our first real foray into footwear which we will continue to grow throughout 2019 with a dedicated area being developed in-store very soon.
We'd love to see you here in Brighton, we are nestled in the heart of the beautiful North Laine area and have so many lovely Christmas gifts and festive party-ware in addition to our clothing collections.
