I was never not going to write about this collaboration, E.T has been my favourite film forever, I have watched it scores and scores of times, I have a whole box of ET themed merch in tucked away in my loft and a giant stuffed toy in my room, I cried when I rode on the ride at Universal Studios in Florida. You get the picture, OBSESSED.
Keeping this collection a secret was harder for me than the first 3 months of pregnancy, I have basically been almost self-combusting with excitement in the months since it was first announced and it is such a relief to finally be able to shout it from the rooftops - ET PHONE MINI RODINI HAS ARRIVED!!!
Emile et Ida, hailing from France, is the brainchild of brand creators Delphine and Céline whose family history is steeped in fashion. The grandchildren of tailors, Emile et Ida was established in 2010 as a tribute to their parents and is a brand renowned for its soft and natural fabrics, retro vibe and subtle colour palette.
Their AW20 collection is nothing short of sensational and EEEEEP in comes in grown-up sizes too!!
Rylee + Cru is a gorgeous childrenswear collection founded by Californian illustrator Kelli Murray and designed in the United States, drawing inspiration from her own young family. There is an inherently vintage feel to her collections; each garment is hand-dyed and super soft making the clothes as comfortable as they are beautiful to wear.
Their latest collection, entitled 'Enchanted Forest' draws inspiration from enchantment and the extraordinary imagination of children, a magical place that reveals a world of mystery. Cast your mind back to being a child, running through the forest, building forts and becoming fairies in a kingdom surrounded by wild life where mushrooms and wild flowers form a pretty blanket on the forest floor. This collection is just SO PERFECT for Autumn!
It's here! The eagerly awaited AW20 collection by Bobo Choses, The Catalogue of Marvellous Trades.
Firstly, WOW What a week last week! And what a BUZZ launch day was! Drop 1 landed with us on Thursday 16th July and the excitement in the days that ran up to launch was palpable. We always thought this collection was something pretty special and to see that cross-over amongst all of our wonderful customers really was a joy to behold, thanks to each and every one of you for your orders.
Konges Sløjd is a beautiful brand hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. Their design philosophy is to create simple, functional and quality driven product that is undeniably Scandinavian in style and ethically produced.
Established in 2014, we have loved and stocked Konges Sløjd for several years now. It is one of our go-to brands for parents with an eye for interior design and is incredibly popular both in-store or online with people buying for baby showers and new babies or simply treating their little one or themselves to something new.
The latest collection sees some of their most popular products re-imagined in new prints and colour palettes as well as some gorgeous new additions that we are really excited to share with you.
The lemon is one of their signature prints and a personal favourite here, one of the new products we really love is the lemon shape sorter. Shape sorters are just brilliant developmental toys, encouraging little ones to learn how to pick up objects and match their shapes. Made from 100% FSC certified wood this is a beautiful addition to any nursery.
Konges Sløjd are renowned for making wonderful teethers. These are SO popular and we've had some designs sell out in a matter of days previously! New for this season are racoons, elephants, dragons, ice creams, lemons and our personal favourite, the tooth! Made from 100% natural Hevea rubber for soothing sore gums. They are a perfect size for tiny hands to grip and feel.
Most people are familiar with the gorgeous changing mats that Konges Sløjd make for the home but did you that they do portable/travel changing pads too? Available in three new prints this season including blue blossom mist and flower field seen here. The changing pads have a magnetic closure that makes it easy to open and close with one hand and two pockets for nappies, wipes and other changing essentials. Made from 100% organic cotton they are the perfect size to pop in a bag when you're out and about.
Also new this season in is the Mio pacifier with an orthodontic teat, available in four gorgeous colours - blush, light green, lemonade and rose. We have a selection of coordinating pacifier straps available online including some beautiful knitted ones made from soft lambswool with a wooden clip and rubber pacifier loop. These are ideal for securely holding on to your little one's pacifier so it won't get lost or fall onto the floor, you don't want to lose pacifiers that are this pretty!
Something I absolutely lusted after when I was (a lot) younger was a beautiful box to keep all of my treasures and jewellery. These beautiful musical versions come in two colour-ways (cream and blue) with different designs and are complete with a mirror and a drawer. They make for such a lovely gift for a slightly older child and its really interesting to see they consider their treasures to be!
The beautiful stacking fruit toys also deserve a special mention. Available both as the strawberry seen here and a lemon. Again made from 100% FSC certified wood, they are great for encouraging hand/eye coordination and counting skills.
The complete collection is available to view online here. Whilst our shop in the heart of Brighton's beautiful North Laine remains closed at the moment our online business is operating as normal. Stay safe and shop from home!
Stella Kids is one of our newer brands (it's our second season with them) but also one of our larger ranges, the collections are fun, modern and playful, very much designed with the joyful spirit and energy of kids in mind.
Stella McCartney needs little introduction, born and raised in London and the English countryside she graduated from the world renowned arts and design collage, Central St Martins, in 1995 to pursue an incredibly successful career in fashion. Following a successful tenure as Creative Director at Chloe, she launched her own label back in 2001 with Stella Kids following in 2010.
The Stella Kids range stays true to the mainline fashion collection and many of the pieces take their inspiration from there. Combine this with an explosion of colour and punchy prints and you have a fun, ethical, sustainable and cruelty-free collection that fun-loving kids can't wait to wear!
I'm not sure if it is a global phenomenon or something we are only seeing in the UK but children everywhere are making rainbows to put in the windows to spread a bit of cheer. We have made one ourselves and from my bedroom I can see 3 or 4 other houses in the street with them up, some big, some small but all lovely so it seems rather timely to see so many rainbows in the Stella Kids SS20 collection, we ADORE them!
With over 40 rainbow themed items its almost impossible to highlight a couple of favourites - we have swimwear, shorts, sweatshirts, dresses, sliders, skirts, bags, joggers, rompers, jumpers and tees and probably one or two things in-between I've missed!
The swimwear is really, really lovely, we have a gorgeous swimsuit and bikini which look absolutely fab and so much fun paired with the sliders and sunglasses!
I also have a lot of love for the hearts this season, a bold and absolutely beautiful print that can be found across a number of swimwear items, including some brilliant swim shorts for the boys, the prettiest little sleeveless baby all in one and my personal favourite, the stunning 3/4 sleeve skirt dress with a drop waist!
And finally, the signature military jacket is an absolute must-have, we've had so many of these over the years and they always draw so much positive attention. It's just one of those pieces that looks great with EVERYTHING!
The full collection is available to view online. Whilst our bricks and mortar shop in Brighton remains closed for now our online shop continues to operate as normal and we have added some additional courier options to help with quicker delivery times worldwide. Thank you as ever for your continued support!
Love is very much in the air and whether you engage with the hoo-ha of Valentines Day or not, one thing that can't have gone unnoticed is the proliferation of hearts this season, lots of our favourite brands have incorporated them into their collections and we are absolutely head over heels with the results!
Mini Rodini launched the second chapter of their Diana collection yesterday and they have gone big with lots of beautiful hearts, featuring singularly on dresses, blouses, bodysuits and sun hats as well as working in combination with horseshoes and clovers for the amazing lucky charm laden print - we have this in dresses, tees and leggings for older kids up to age 11 and it also works beautifully for babies, check out this adorable little newborn set!
There is absolutely no way we could not make mention of the sensational cap from this chapter. Mini Rodini have absolutely nailed it with their butterfly cap in an all over heart print. A red butterfly patch in up-cycled polysatin decorates the front and the cap has an adjustable strap to enable that perfect fit. We think its a little bit out of this world!
Tinycottons launched their SS20 collection back in January and it has been so well received! Dolce Far Niente, as the name suggests, is rooted in all things Italian and reflects on the art of not doing very much at all and enjoying the simple pleasures that life brings. We love the cute cross back dress with the all over hearts print in red and brick (and that enviable bubble gum bubble!). Made in soft babbula cotton it has a button front opening and side seam pockets, super cute and really wearable to boot.
Bobo Choses are also bringing us a whole lot of love this season. The striking all over heart print features on dresses, a skirt, a baby blouse and trousers and a gorgeous swimsuit with crossover ruffle straps available in both kid and baby sizes.
Never one to be left in anyone's shadow is The Animals Observatory, their brilliant Weasel Dress in an all-over blue heart print is gathered at the waist and features ruffled cap sleeves. Available in kids age 2 - 10 years this is a really versatile dress that works as well with trainers and a cap as it does for a special occasion!
Whether you're feeling the love or not this Valentines, indulge in a little retail therapy to help keep spirits high - with lots of spring/summer collections now online to inject a little sunshine into everyone's lives. Happy Valentines y'all!
Mini Rodini, Diana - Chapter one of FIVE (oh yes!!) that will be released between now and the end of March, dropped last Thursday 30th January. Paying homage to the style icon that is Princess Diana, it is a gorgeously preppy, sporty-chic collection with very British roots.
One of our favourite items from the collection HAS to be the country jacket, it is such a great transitional piece for Winter to Spring. Perfect for layering with fleece or warm knits in this colder weather and brilliant on its own as the temperatures improve. Made in recycled polyester and organic cotton it combines functionality with a very classic heritage style. Water-repellent with BIONIC-FINISH® ECO coating and breathable, it has foldable corduroy cuffs that means it can grow with your child. Wish, wish, wish they did this in grown-up sizes!!
If you are more sports pitch than country field minded, you are going to LOVE the rugby shirts which we are stocking in four beautiful colours including this pretty pink. Made from organic cotton and produced in a factory that is part of MIni Rodini's living wage project. This product is GOTS certified – the strictest certification for organic materials on the market today, which involves rigid controls throughout the entire manufacturing process, including chemical use and working conditions.
Mini Rodini's commitment to sustainability is well documented, it is one of the most sustainable childrenswear collections around. The (out-of-this-world) panther jacket for example, is made in 100% recycled polyestar from recycled PET plastic bottles, discarded fishing nets and used clothes making it GRS certified. What's not to love!?!
With four more beautiful chapters yet to be revealed, make sure you stay tuned for lots more exciting products and prints. Chapter 2 lands on Thursday 13th February and we can't wait to show you what we have!
Check out the full collection online here, it also includes some fabulous baby pieces in brilliant prints including tiger stripes and unicorns!
Dolce Far Niente is a way of life, the art of not doing very much at all and enjoying the simple pleasures that life brings. It also happens to be the name of the latest collection by Tiny Cottons, one rooted in all things Italian as the name suggests.
Inspired by warm, sunny summers in Italy the collection is a nod to the slow life philosophy that the Italians have mastered so perfectly. A colour palette of yellows, greens, blues and terracotta are combined with a series of super cute prints. Strawberries, oranges, sunshine, flowers, hearts and the sweetest little sausage dogs are all designed to transport us to the landscape and culture of Italy.
As well of lots of unisex pieces and some fabulously cute knitwear we have some gorgeous summer dresses - strawberry, heart, sunshine and vichy designs all feature in Drop 1 as well accessories including this fabulous check bucket hat. (We ate all the biscuits, sorry.)
In Drop 2 we have a beautiful swimwear collection including this one piece in the Il Bassotto sausage dog print which would be perfectly teamed with the transparent jelly shoes designed to keep little feet safe on the beach (also available in light pink, cerulean blue, red and yellow and landing in Drop 2 ).
Drop 1 launched Wednesday 22nd January and is already online here with Drop 2 following on Wednesday 19th February. We are stocking baby sizes at 6, 9, 12 and 18 months plus kids sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8 years, lots of styles and lots of choice, we hope you enjoy our edit!
